"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time. " ~John LubbockHappy Summer, Everyone! I hope that you are all enjoying your well-deserved breaks from the tribulations of academia. What is everyone up to? Are you making time to listen to the crickets chirp? As for me, I turned in my JP and submitted my med school apps a couple of days ago. Tonight, I finished a take-home final for Buddhism. Now, the only work I have left to do is a paper (due next week) and a final (at the end of June). Then I'm done with school! After that, I get 10 days free in Brisbane before I go snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef (for credit) with Marine Neurobiology. Then my parents and my brother arrive in Australia in the middle of July. Together we are going up to Cairns to dive on the reef, then down to Sydney, then to Melbourne, and finally over to the south island of New Zealand. Fun stuff. I'll be back in the States on August 5 (just in time to celebrate my 22nd). What are you doing? Let's keep CI going. I think many of you will appreciate the distraction while working at your boring 9-5 desk jobs or conducting thesis research. Besides, it's fun, and I like reading it. Hope you are all doing well. Talk to you soon!

Awww, poor CI is lonely. Well here's a post for ya big guy. After a respite of nothing but beach and gym in FL, my dad and I hauled ass in the old Honda up to NJ. Seriously we were flyin! We could have probably made it in one day, but we got tired around Richmond VA. Back on campus now. It is awesome. I love being here in the summer. Everything is so relaxed. Last night we made blueberry pancakes for dinner and mochi for dessert. Yum. Hmm what other news. Oh yeah, I guess that big white fluffy couch of mine has been hijacked. So keep your eyes out for a replacement. Some music to keep in your back pocket: I finally got the new Built to Spill album that wasn't available in the UK. It's great. Also copped Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose (produced by Jack White of the White Stripes). If anyone has doubts about the merits of country music, this might sway your opinion. Herbert - crazy electro producer who, for his new album, Scale, recorded drums : underwater, in a hot air balloon, at 100 mph. But he makes really good music.
