burgundycenter.org February, 2006 JOB ANNOUNCEMENT This may not be the most glamorous job you ever hold, but it could be the most fun, and worth considering if you are an informal person, and would enjoy being out in the mountains in summertime, living in a cabin, waking to bird song, sunning by a fresh water pond, and interacting with children. The Burgundy Center for Wildlife Studies is a residential nature study program in the Appalachians of West Virginia. The bulk of the summer is 2-week sessions for 11-15 year olds. There is also one week for 8-10 year olds, and a weekend for adults. We have always taken pride in our tasty, varied meals, and have the following opening: COOK Will manage kitchen staff of 4, order food and prepare meals and snacks for 50-60 campers and staff daily, during sessions and training periods. Cook is off duty during the two days between each session. Qualifications: Experience preparing food for large groups. Demonstrated ability to meet nutritional, sanitation, and safety standards. Flexibility, managerial ability, willingness to work with staff aged 15-25. Certification in First Aid and CPR for adults and children. Duration: June 19 - August 27. Salary: $3500 plus room and board.
